.Students from UG and PG participated in a paper presentation competition at NSS College, Nilamel. Which was conducted in connection with National Science Day celebration 2024
.Department of Chemistry in association with Kerala Fire and Rescue Services Punalur Station conducted a workshop on First Aid & Fire Safety Training on 30.09.2024 at college auditorium.
.As part of industrial visit 3rd UG students visited Oil Palm India LTD and awared about various process behind palm oil production.
.Institute for Watershed Development and Management- Kerala under the Department of Soil Survey and Soil Conservation inconnection with world environment day conducted Intercollegiate Competitions. The johnsians, Irfana & Sujisha B won second and third prize in poetry writting respectively. A team of Ramsy Raheel Y C & Karthika S Nath won 3rd prize in quize competition. CONGRATULATIONS !!!

.HEAM Parliamentarian is a school level debate with workshop (Exclusively for school students in XI or XII (State, CBSE and ICSE) to create the awareness about - Necessity of Hydrogen, Biofuels and other renewable energy sources based start-ups in Indian Scenario. The one day debate with workshop was organized by Department of Chemistry, Innovation & Start-up Club and Debate club of St. John’ College, Anchal in association with Indian Association for Hydrogen Energy and Advanced Materials and Department of Chemistry, University of Kerala Supported by Kerala state start up mission.
.Research Department of Chemistry in Connection with Research and Development cell has conducted an one day seminar on the topic Embarking on a journey from chemistry student to material scientist.- Exploring the boundaries of nanomaterials.
.The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on 26 June every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. Our students join in to observe World Drug Day to help raise awareness of the major problem that illicit drugs pose to society and also they took pledge against its usage.
.Students of Deptartment of Chemistry, St. John's College, Anchal got a golden opertunity to participate in the researchers’ festival conducted by Kerala University at its Karyavattom campus from June 19 to 22 to showcase its research achievements with focus on their social relevance. It enable the students to interact with eminent personalities from diverse domains of knowledge, industrialists and heads of R&D institutions.

.Every year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite to show support for people living with and affected by HIV and to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS. Our students also join with the world to observe the day.
.On 1st December 2022 Department of Chemistry, St. John’s College, Anchal hosted a school level debate competition HEAM Parliamentarian 2022 supported by Kerala State Start-Up Mission, Government of Kerala. In this edition of HEAM Parliamentarian we organized the debate competition to create awareness regarding renewable energy start ups in India. The purpose of the HEAM Parliamentarian 2022 was to explore student scientist in the field of Hydrogen and other renewable energy and to create awareness regarding renewable energy start ups in India.
.Department of Chemistry organized a one day seminar on "Functional Adsorbant Materials for Water Purification" on 1st December 2022.
.The students are exposed to various industry oriented practicals such as analysis of water pollution, Identification of the presence of metal ions in given samples, Determination of iodine number of refined palm oil, Identification of Cis and Trans fatty acids, Separation of plant extracts using chromatographic techniques, Isolation of chlorophyll and colorimetric estimation and so on.
