DEPARTMENT OF MALAYALAM

 

The Department of Malayalam was started in the year 1964 ad in 1967 B.A Degree Course in Malayalam was started. Malayalam, being a classical language, is the most sought after language to be pursued in detail.

The Department envisions in imparting a great deal of knowledge about the Malayalam language to help the students pursue their career in Malayalam.

The Department of Malayalam is presently headed by Dr. Mary M. Abraham and is supported by a highly qualified and dedicated team of faculty members.

Ranks and high percentage of marks in the University Examinations are a regular feature of this Department. The Department takes pride in the fact that  since 2018, our students have been able to bag atleast one among the top 3 University Ranks repeatedly.

Some of the great alumni of the Department are, the Department has  adorning key and vital positions in the academic, judicial, civil and political landscape of Kerala. This high success rate is a key factor that helps in attracting a large number of students to this programme year after year.

The Department of Malayalam of this College has been successfully conducting various Seminars and Workshops over the years till date.

Apart from the BA Degree Course in Malayalam Language and Literature, the department offers Add on Course in Journalism.
