On November 19, 2024, St. John's College Anchal's Commerce Club organized TYCOON event. This event aimed to engage students in discussions about contemporary issues in commerce and technology, fostering critical thinking and communication skills. The initiative reflects the club's commitment to enhancing students' understanding of the evolving business landscape through interactive learning experience and interactive games.
.On November 5th, the Department of Commerce conducted an industrial visit to Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co. Ltd. (KEL), Ernakulam. The Industrial Visit was organised by Ms. Bainy George, Mr.Soju L Johnson, Ms. Ancila Clara Varghese and B.Com Second Year Finance students. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into the industrial sector and familiarize them with KEL's operations, which include manufacturing for defense, power projects, and space research. Students engaged with company representatives, gaining knowledge about the industry's challenges and innovations. This experience enhanced their understanding of commerce in a real- world context, aligning with their academic pursuits. after visit they visited marine drive, conducted boating and then visited Lulu mall Ernakulam. After the visit to KEL, the students explored Marine Drive, where they enjoyed boating, taking in the scenic views of Kochi's waterfront. Following this, they visited Lulu Mall in Ernakulam, one of India's largest shopping destinations. The mall provided a vibrant atmosphere for leisure and shopping, allowing students to experience Kerala's commercial landscape firsthand while enjoying recreational activities and a variety of cuisines. This combination of industrial and recreational activities enriched their overall learning experience
.An Industrial workshop "Gateway to Financial Freedom", was organized by the Department of Commerce at St. John's College Anchal in collaboration with the Hedge School of Applied Economics on 4th November 2024, Monday. The workshop focused on enhancing financial literacy among the students. The event featured expert speakers who discussed budgeting, investment strategies, and debt management. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, gaining practical insights into financial planning. The workshop aimed to empower attendees with the knowledge necessary for achieving financial independence and was well-received, highlighting the importance of financial education in today's economy.
.The Commerce Club activities, organized by the Department of Commerce at St. Johns College, Anchal took place on 30th October 2024. Commerce Club bulletin TYCOON - October Edition was revealed by the faculty. The program considered of various engaging activities, participants showcased their skills in competitions designed to enhance their business acumen and teamwork. The event included a business quiz, which was well-received by students, leading to a satisfactory outcome overall. The celebration aimed to foster innovation and collaboration among students, providing them with valuable experience in a competitive environment.
.The Department of Commerce in collaboraton with KELTRON (Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation) conducted a Skill Development Program on 24th October 2024. The Program was successfull in providing training and enhancing employability skills to the students to a great extent.

The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with team ARTHNIRMITI, conducted a Financial Literacy Workshop "Empowering Youth Minds" led by Mr. Bimi Jose on 21st October 2024. The workshop aimed to enhance financial awareness among participants, focusing on essential skills to students about modern financial products. The program included interactive sessions & presentations to engage students effectively.
.Career & Placement Cell in association with AVODHA skills training platform arranged a seminar on "How to Build a career on today's scenario?" handled by Mr. Caspin Shelban on October 3rd 2024.
.On 25th September, Department of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with team "ARTHNIRMITI" in collaboration with SWAYAM Plus. The MoU marks a significant collaboration aimed at empowering students with financial literacy and financial wisdom.

On September 12th, the Department of Commerce celebrated Onam with vibrant festivities that showcased our rich cultural heritage. The attendees donned colourful ethnic attire, embodying spirit of the festival. The event featured traditional art performances, Pookkalam and varieties of Onam games. The celebration culminated in a grand Onassadhya.

.The industrial visit (15th September ,2023) to the Modern Bread Factory in Edapally, Ernakulam, was organized for the students of Semester 5, B.Com Finance, from St. John's College, Anchal. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into the operations of a modern food production facility and to help them connect classroom knowledge with real-world industrial practices. Additionally, a visit to the Marine Drive in Ernakulam was organized to provide students with some recreational and leisure time.
